It's time to say good bye to 2016. No matter how you feel about it, we can all agree that it was a crazy year full of surprises, changes, and well craziness.
As I set my sights on a new year I want to make sure I reset my perspective and walk into this year with the right heart and attitude.
First of all, Jesus is still King. No matter what has happened or what will happen, Jesus is and will be King. (Revelation 19:16)
Next, King Jesus told me not to worry about tomorrow. (Matthew 6:34) If I take Jesus' word literally (and I do) and I obey Him (which I want to do) I can just take each day as it comes and trust God to work it all out. What freedom that comes from following King Jesus and doing what He says!
Finally, this is not our home (Hebrews 11:13). We are strangers and pilgrims on the Earth. I must keep an eternal perspective because God always has an eternal perspective. I can't get too caught up in the things of this world. I must walk in the hope of my future with my King. I will live for His Kingdom and not the kingdoms of men.

May 2017 be the year I serve the one true King, King Jesus.
